AC·X Online Spanish

We are Agustina Ferrero and Lorena Cioccolanti, two teachers who are passionate about our own language: Spanish.
We can help you communicate with people from the Spanish-speaking world, no matter where they’re from.
You may be wondering who we are.
We’ll tell you!

Two things that make me really happy are animals and reading. I’ve always had pets and dogs have always been my favorite ones. However I’ve also had guinea pigs, ducks, tortoises and rabbits. Nowadays I have a dog and a cat, both adopted. The definition of a great time for me is reading a good book while cuddling my pets. If meanwhile I’m enjoying a good cup of coffee, that’s even better!

I’ve always known I love to travel. In 2018, thanks to a University scholarship, I had the opportunity to do an exchange in Cali, Colombia (a country I totally fell in love with). Thanks to that experience, I realized that, if possible, I would like to keep traveling the world staying longer in the places I visit, getting to really know other people and their cultures. While exploring corners of the world is when I feel more like myself.

I have a degree in International Relations (IR) but languages are my passion. It took me a while to get to that conclusion. First I enrolled in Chemistry, then in IR and lastly I started studying to become an English Translator, a language I’ve been studying since I was 7 years old. Amidst all that, I trained to become a Spanish as a Foreign Language teacher, and I loved it because it meant being able to meet people from different places, wherever I am.

I love working from home! When I decided to major in IR, it was with the idea in mind of being able to live in any country and do my own thing. Now, I not only want to be able to work from any corner of the world, but also from a computer that I can take anywhere with me while I’m on the move. Luckily for me, I’ve found the way to make it happen —teaching Spanish online!

If I had to define myself in a few words, I’d say I’m a restless, curious person, and a perfectionist (and no, I’m not flattering myself), who usually thinks way too much and enjoys new challenges. Pretty often, these qualities give me quite a headache… But all of this also means that I give it all in every personal and professional project I take up, such as AC·Xpanish and the lessons I teach.

I’ve always loved traveling. To me, traveling means growth in every sense: you learn, share and discover an endless amount of stuff at the same time. And it was precisely in one of my trips that I found out I wanted to teach Spanish to foreigners, a profession that in time would become my calling and my great passion.

I was born and raised in a small town in Córdoba, Argentina, but since I was a little girl I knew I wanted to go to college. By the time I turned 18, I moved to Córdoba City and, a few years later, I got my Degree in Mass Communication and Advertising. Even though I liked it, I wasn’t fascinated by this field. This is why I continued my quest for a profession that would fill my heart with joy.

I am Argentinian by birth and Italian by heritage, and holding an Italian passport opened the doors to Europe. At 28, I moved to Barcelona, Spain. I lived for 10 years in Barcelona. There, I was trained to be a Spanish teacher and did most of my career. Barcelona is the place where I feel like home, the city that I tune in with perfectly each time I visit.

I’ve had thousands of students in my Spanish lessons, of different ages and nationalities, coming from the most remote places in the world. Students with different tastes, interests and motivations. Thanks to each one of them and to all that diversity, today I can tell at first sight the kind of student that’s in front of me and the best way to help them reach their goals.

As I considered English to be essential, when I was 25 I traveled to the United States to take a course. That experience would be a turning point in my life, not only personally but also vocationally. I came back from that trip yearning for more, which is why I went back the following year, only this time to work as an Au Pair.
